Meet Dr. Unsell

Kayla Unsell, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Precision Vision in South Oklahoma City. She specializes in cataract surgery and refractive surgery, including LASIK, EVO ICL, PRK, Light Adjustable Lens implants, advanced technology lens implants, and refractive lens exchange.

Dr. Unsell is a native Oklahoman and is very excited to have returned to her roots to serve her community. Her ophthalmology journey began began at Union College in Lincoln, NE where she studied biomedical sciences and graduated magna cum laud. Dr. Unsell then earned her medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, consistently demonstrating her commitment to excellence in medical education and patient care.

Throughout her ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University Eye Institute, Dr. Unsell was deeply involved in patient care and research, focusing on innovative treatments and surgical techniques in ophthalmology. Her dedication to advancing her field is evident through her contributions to medical literature, including a notable publication in Plastic Surgery journal and several presentations at conferences. Dr. Unsell is also passionate about global health and mission work, which has included a year serving in Ukraine, providing medical clinics in Peru, and performing cataract surgery for the people of Palau.

Once finished with residency, Dr. Unsell completed a cataract and refractive fellowship were she had the opportunity to be involved in multiple FDA studies involving the latest technology in cataract surgery. She also presented research at major conferences such as the American Society and Cataract Refractive Surgery.

In her spare time, Dr. Unsell’s interests include baking, travel, snow skiing, hiking, reading, and mission work. She feels it’s an honor and privilege to help patients at Precision Vision achieve the best vision possible.
